The Government pleads for diversification of energy resources and attraction of investments in this sector

The Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici has a meeting with Carlo Arturo Garuzzo, Director of one of the most important companies for production of solar renewable energy in Italy.

During the discussions, the Head of the Executive has pointed out that for the Republic of Moldova, the diversification of the energy resources, the increase of the energy security level, and attraction of investments are extremely important. "One of the priorities of the Government refers to identifying as many as possible alternative sources so as to not depend just on one supplier. We are interested and open to discuss with potential investors in this area", pointed out the Prime Minister, Chiril Gaburici.

The Parties also tackled the harmonization of the legislation in the energy area. The Prime Minister mentioned that the sector has to be reformed and modernized, as the energy security of the state represents one of the pylons of a viable security system for the sector areas, as well as for the whole country.

Chiril Gaburici talked about the collaboration with Romania in this area, mentioning that in May there was signed the Memorandum of Understanding, related to the first interconnection of the electricity networks from the two countries, in the South, on the road Isaccea (Romania) - Vulcăneşti - Chisinau. Subsequently, a feasibility study will be carried out to start the second interconnection. Hence, Moldova will become more attractive for investors who wish to produce electricity from alternative sources, such as Flyren.

The Director of the Company, Carlo Arturo Garuzzo, mentioned that the Republic of Moldova is a country in which investments may be made in the given sector. "I saw that you have room for development in this area. Moreover, this sector - production of renewable solar energy, is the future of the country", mentioned Carlo Arturo Garuzzo.

The Company Flyren is a leader in the area of producing renewable energy in Italy. The basic activity is production of solar energy as well as development of other renewable technologies, like the ones based on hydro-energy, biogas, and biomass.
